I need to receive a sum of money in euros on my card, the card is in RON, how long does it take to withdraw the amount?
In order to make a transfer in a currency other than RON, you must have opened a current account with us in that currency, i.e. euro. 💶
If you give the transferor the IBAN code for a account in another currency (e.g. RON), the transferred amount will not be received by that account as we do not automatically convert the currency, but credit the account for the currency in which we receive the amount.
However, in order not to be refused the transfer when the money is received, we open a current account in the respective currency, provided that the transfer data are correct. 🙂
On the plus side, we don't charge you a fee for account management or foreign currency withdrawals afterwards.
You should also know that a transfer from abroad takes on average between 3 and 5 working days. But it can be even shorter than that.
It depends on the type of transfer! 😊

Good to know:
Transactions carried out in Romania will be paid in the same currency in which they were sent. 💱
For online transactions (BT24 Internet Banking) from abroad to Romania, your account is credited with the expected amount in the account currency. If the amount you receive is in another currency, the amount will be converted into the account currency at the exchange rate set by Western Union. 🤔
Through a BT card you can hold 2 or more accounts in different currencies, the account being attached to the RON currency. However, currency transfers/exchanges between accounts are possible via the BT24 Internet Banking application.
