How do I know I'm a prosumer?
Consumers are natural or legal persons who, according to Law 123 on energy, produce electricity from renewable sources for their own consumption and whose specific activity is not the production of electricity. Electricity suppliers are obliged to purchase the energy supplied by them either through compensation or financial settlement:
- Quantitative compensation - the energy produced and delivered to the grid by prosumers with systems with an installed capacity of up to 200kW per consumption site is priced at the same price as the active electricity price used by the supplier;
- Financial settlement - energy produced and delivered to the grid by prosumers with systems with an installed capacity of more than 200kW or a maximum of 400 kW per consumption site is at the weighted average price recorded in the Market for the Next Day (PZU) for the month in which it was produced.
