What happens to my deposits if I have a garnishment?

You should be aware that amounts in bank deposits are subject to attachment.

Thus, if you do not have enough money in your current accounts to pay the garnishment, the bank is obliged by law to dissolve the deposit(s) and pay the amount of the garnishment to the executor.

The payment of the garnishment on term bank deposits will be made on the first maturity of the deposit.

In order to avoid the deposit(s) being cancelled when the legal deadline for payment of the attachment has expired, please make sure that there are the necessary amounts in your current accounts to make the payment or, if you have already paid this attachment, please immediately notify the bank of the proof of payment or the stop payment address.

In the event that the bank has to close the deposit(s) in order to pay the attachment, the bank will replenish the deposit under the same conditions on the amounts remaining in the account after payment of the attachment. If the deposit cannot be replenished under the same conditions, we inform you that you have the possibility to make another type of deposit from the bank's offer.
