What does CSALB do?
The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution in Banking or CSALB manages the infrastructure for alternative dispute resolution through two types of procedures:
➤⠀procedure with proposed solution (Conciliation)
➤⠀the procedure with imposed solution (Arbitration)
If the complaint has not been settled directly with the financial-banking institution, the consumer can contact CSALB.
Conciliators analyse the situation on the basis of documents provided by consumers and traders and propose or impose a solution to the dispute. This may be different from a judgment obtained in a court of law which strictly applies the provisions of the law, because in ADR cases conciliators can take into account commercial usages and general principles of law and also settle the dispute in equity.
