What is the "contactless card"? Where can I use it?

What is contactless card?

Contactless technology is a payment method that allows the card to communicate with a POS or ATM terminal without physically touching it. 🏧

All you have to do is put your contactless card near the POS and payment is made instantly, with unlimited contactless transactions.

You no longer need to enter your card at the POS, and for payments of less than 100 lei, you don't need to enter your PIN. 🔐

How do contactless payments work and what are their benefits? 

Currently, all cards issued / reissued by Banca Transilvania have contactless technology incorporated. Please note that this technology is a basic feature of the cards issued by Banca Transilvania. 💳

Each transaction is protected under a unique security code that cannot be reused for subsequent transactions.

Contactless transactions are processed through the same global network as standard transactions, so they benefit from the same security and fraud protection systems. 🔒

Contactless payments can be made at any merchant at home and abroad that has the contactless symbol displayed on the POS.

How much does it cost? 

➤⠀Visa Classic BT ➭ issuing fee: 0 RON; administration fee: 0 RON / year;

➤⠀MasterCard BT World ➭ issuing fee: 0 RON; administration fee: 0 RON / year;

➤⠀MasterCard Gold Debit ➭ issuing fee: 50 RON / card; administration fee: 80 RON / year / card;

➤⠀Mastercard Direct ➭ issuing fee: 4 EURO/ card; administration fee: 3 EURO/ card/ year.

Why are all cards contactless?

Well, as technology evolves, we want to evolve too. But don't worry! We're taking you on board! 🤗

At the moment, all BT cards are contactless because they allow everything to move more fluidly. 

We can assure you that we have researched this type of payment in advance and implemented it so that everything is very secure. 👍

It's even safer than paying with cash. Every transaction is recorded and if there is a problem with your money, we can help you solve it more efficiently.

What happens if you lose a contactless card?
