What other options are there for saving besides deposits or savings accounts?
Knowing about savings products other than traditional deposits is the key to smart saving. Unfortunately, Romania is at the bottom of the European rankings in this respect. 🙁
There are 3 simple savings options to consider:
❶⠀Pillar IIIvoluntary private pension funds: the sums saved are tax deductible up to 400 euros/year, and the monthly contribution can be stopped or resumed according to one's choice; in addition, the return is very good if we think of long-term saving, 15-25-30 years, the return is capitalised.
❷⠀Investment funds: have two major advantages - high liquidity, meaning you have access to money at any time, and returns above those offered on deposits. With BTAM funds you can make monthly deposits by BT Direct Invest.
❸⠀Government bonds: are the safest savings instruments with zero risk and good returns, usually above inflation. In addition, the tax on returns is ZERO. 😃
