In general, delivery of the card can take up to 7 working days. It depends on whether you choose to have it delivered to a BT store or to your home (for a fee) 😊 

Either way, you'll receive an SMS when it's arrived in the shop/ will be delivered, and until then you can use the virtual one in BT Pay.
