If we are a start-up and we want to grow and we need a space for the new activity, can we get an EIB loan?

Whether a growing start-up or a mature one, the company may be eligible for both EIB and EIF guaranteed loans. Depending on the needs of the business, one can opt for either EIB financing (less bureaucracy but also price advantages only) or EIF-EIF OP IIMM (slightly higher bureaucracy, but with 60% of the loan guaranteed by the external partner, and more competitive prices).

Very important: if you want to buy a space, it must be for the company's activity, and not for renting to third parties. The only limitation would be that through EIF-MIPO the project is eligible only if the value of the land purchased represents a maximum of 10% of the total credit requested.

For the development of the current activity, if the space is to be rented, the appropriate loan is the working capital loan. It can be accessed under both programmes. 😉
